Robot Short Stem

For ages we’ve had the idea of a wide clamp area 35mm reach mtb stem. Never liking clamp bolts to the rear of the stem and looking for clean lines this is a mid clamp.

What is a mid clamp?

A mid clamp clamps the steerer in front of the steerer instead of behind, so just make sure you clamp the steerer before the bars are tight.

The robot is wide, probably the widest on the market coming in at 65mm, this means you need a clamp area on your bars of at least 65mm wide.

CNC machining is what we live for, tool marks have purposely been left giving it an industrial feel an texture and reminds us why we love doing what we do.

What is it made from?

Each robot is machined from a block of 7075-T6 aluminium alloy – this is the good stuff

A word on testing

The stem has passed ISO testing to BS EN ISO 4210-2:2015, these tests were carried out by a UK company.

Bar Size and Reach

The stem is a 35mm reach for 31.8 bars, we will in future make a version for 35mm dia bars.

Lets talk bolts

So a fine stem requires fine bolts so therefore Robot comes as standard with grade 5 titanium bolts – and yes they are made in the UK, so that’s good.

Production
